Hello, friends! The holidays are right around the corner and we wanted to share with you a few quick and easy tips on how to make your home look as festive as can be.
1. A gallery wall of wreaths
You can either use real or fake wreaths for this decoration hack. You can get as many as you would like, the hang them up on the wall in a sort of pattern...whatever you like! This brings out that "Christmas Green" and makes your home look very festive.
2. Add ornaments
You can never go wrong with ornaments! Also, they do not just have to go on the tree. Try putting them in places that are unorthodox . Maybe as a centerpiece for your kitchen table?
3. Decorate your mantel
The mantel is a huge part in decorating for the holidays. It is also pretty simple to amp up! You can hang your stockings, add tinsel, put numerous small decorations on top, etc. The list could go on and on. This is where you can get creative. What do you like? Put it on the mantel! There are many options for this decoration hack...make it your own!
4. Craft stores are your friend
Wherever you live, we hope it is near a craft store! AC Moore, Michael's, Target, Dollar stores, HomeGoods, Hobby Lobby or any others that may come to your mind are GREAT options for decor needs. You can walk in those stores not knowing what decorations you want at all, but they will find an answer for you. They really know how to wrap you in on certain ideas or designs. This is a good thing...just be sure to stay within your budget. Be the bargain hunter!
5. Make the sofas Holiday-ey
Whether it is blankets, pillows or covers, add a little something to the couches to make them look like they are participating in the holidays. This may be the easiest step of them all. You can add your own character to the living room.
6. Put up a Christmas tree
Last but not least, the Christmas tree. Now, we know this seems like an obvious step but this is a crucial part of the holiday decorations. The tree is the main event, the center of it all. The other decorations go up to compliment the tree. They bring everything together ans light up the home a little bit more than usual. You can purchase a real tree (which is a wonderful experience) or buy one at the store (which is super easy and convenient). It depends on the type of person. There is no wrong way.
*Pet Tip*
Do not hang ornaments or tinsel at the very bottom of the tree. That makes it easy for your pets to either run into, bite, or play with them which causes a risk of them breaking.
These six steps are just examples of what we think could make your holiday decorating easier and make your home look warm & wonderful. If you have other ways you decorate your home, please let us know in the comments below!
